US President Donald Trump has left viewers baffled after he claimed live on TV that a new swimming pool will be "taller than skyscrapers." During an Oval office meeting the 79-year-old US leader said the renovated Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is "taller than any building in the world, actually".
He added: "There's no building that's 2500ft tall I don't think. But its like twice the height of the Empire State Building and its much wider.

"We just got that open last night. We wanted to do it before July 4 and it is incredible."

The multi-million-dollar Reflecting Pool renovation, which is flat, was finished last week, with the pool refilled by Sunday ahead of America’s 250th birthday on July 4.
The remarks quickly drew attention on X, where users rushed to comment and reignited concerns about Trump's health. One user remarked: "Time to schedule another cognitive test."
"The height of the reflection pool is 30 inches in the center", added a second.
A third wrote: "Trump: "It's taller than any building in the world." The reflecting pool: "Sir, I'm literally a puddle."
The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was originally built in the 1920s and is the largest of the many reflecting pools in Washington DC.

It is a 2,030-by-167-foot concrete-bottomed rectangular pool located on the National Mall.
Last year Trump insisted he was in perfect mental and physical health, stating that he had undergone a “perfect physical exam” along with a comprehensive cognitive assessment.
He wrote on Truth Social at the time: "There will be a day when I run low on Energy, it happens to everyone, but with a PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND A COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST ('That was aced') JUST RECENTLY TAKEN, it certainly is not now! GOD BLESS AMERICA & MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"
Over the past year Trump has been accused of rambling during speeches. Earlier this year, the 79-year-old appeared to stumble over his words during a speech at Davos, prompting viewers to suggest there may have been an issue with his voice.
