From the show
In this edition, we focus on the world of philanthropy, with a spotlight on women donors. This as charities come under growing pressure, amid a shifting political climate that's impacting support for diversity and inclusion and especially as a significant chunk of funding goes to women and girls around the world. MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, gave more away in 2025 than either Bezos or fellow billionaire Elon Musk gave away in their entire lifetimes.
This raises an important question: are women more inclined to give generously without seeking public recognition? Annette Young explores this issue in conversation with Suzanne Ehlers, executive director and CEO of USA for UNHCR, which depends heavily on private donations.
