Vladimir Putin's propagandists discussed on Russian state TV the "end of the world", claiming without providing any evidence that Donald Trump is set to unleash nuclear weapons on US enemies. During an episode of his state TV show, Sunday Evening With Vladimir Solovyov, the host started a bizarre rant on the possibility of nuclear war started by the US.
He claimed the US President would use nuclear weapons against Iran, which in turn would "trade nuclear strikes", bringing about a new "phase" of the world. He said: "The scariest thing that will happen is that Trump will use nuclear weapons and understand that this is not a cure-all.
"The size of Iran as a country is such that, regardless of what kind of nuclear weapons you use, unless you immediately start to hammer it with an insane quantity of strategic weapons, which would impact all of its neighbours afterwards, Iran will respond.
"The last restriction will fall. The world will move into a phase when everyone who has it will trade nuclear strikes. This is a totally different life. The level of escalation will increase momentarily."
One of his guests, head of Russia Today Margarita Simonyan, then dramatically said "the end of times" has never been "so evident" while echoing Solovyov's baseless claims of a nuclear war.
She said: "We live in penultimate times. Now there will be a nuclear war, and it will be the end of times. I come back on-air now, and it's the end of the world. You couldn't make it up. In the history of the world, it was never so evident.
Despite the pair's claims, Trump has not said he will use nuclear weapons to attack Iran.

Taking to his platform Truth Social, the US President also ordered Israel to stop targeting the facility, saying the country acted "out of anger".
He wrote: "NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL pertaining to this extremely important and valuable South Pars Field unless Iran unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar - In which instance the United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before."
