Israel has launched a ground operation in Lebanon while carrying out "targeted strikes" in Iran, it was announced on Tuesday.

The IDF said they are "currently conducting simultaneous targeted strikes against military targets in Tehran and Beirut."

In another update, the IDF also added its soldiers "are operating in southern Lebanon and are positioned at several points near the border area as part of an enhanced forward defense posture. We are conducting targeted strikes against Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure. Hezbollah chose to attack Israel on behalf of the Iranian regime, and it will bear the consequences of its actions." Yesterday (March 2) the IDF was urging the evacuation of buildings in the southern neighbourhood of Beirut.

But the war in Lebanon have reached a new stage today (March 3) as Israel said to "have authorised the IDF to advance and seize additional strategic areas in Lebanon in order to prevent fire on Israeli border communities".

Local sources in Iran reported explosions in the cities of Isfahan and Shiraz. Isfahan is also understood to be the base of some Iran's nuclear facilities.

Yesterday, the IDF said they have killed senior members of the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence Sayed Yahya Hamidi, who was Deputy Minister of Intelligence for ‘Israel Affairs,’ and Jalal Pour Hossein, Head of the Espionage Division.

They also added Hussein Makled, the head of Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters was "eliminated in a precise strike in Beirut".

Meanwhile, Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group based in Lebanon, has claimed responsibility for several overnight drone attacks on Israel, Sky News reported. The rockers were fired at an IDF base in the Golan Heights to target an Israeli air traffic control base on Mount Meron and the Ramat David air base, it was also reported.
