Azerbaijan has announced it "reserves the right to take appropriate retaliatory measures" after the Nakhchivan Airport was struck by an Iranian drone. Harrowing footage emerging on Thursday morning shows the airport in the Azeri exclave, which borders Iran, being struck, with further footage showing heavy damage at the terminal's roof.
Azerbaijan has also accused Iran of firing another drone, this time near a school. Condeming the attack, the Azeri Foreign Ministry has claimed two civilian were injured, and said it has summoned the Iranian ambassador to issue a strong protest.

As reported by Al Jazeera, the land corridor, dubbed the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP), gave the US development rights for the proposed route connecting Azerbaijan to its Nakhchivan exclave and creating a passage between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Iran has opposed this route, also called Zangezur corridor, fearing it would cut the country off from Armenia and the rest of the Caucasus while bringing potentially hostile foreign forces close to its borders, the media outlet also explained.
Info on Nakhchivan
Nakhchivan is an Azerbaijani exclave that borders Iran, Turkey, and Armenia.
It is separated from the main Azerbaijani territory by a narrow strip of Armenian land. It is an autonomous republic, but still politically part of Azerbaijan.
Nakhchivan was part of a US-brokered peace deal signed last yeae between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Second drone crashed near village school
More information are emerging about the second drone that crashed near a school in Azerbaijan.
It happened in the village of Shekarabad, injurying two people, according to initial reports.

Azerbaijan are now demanding that the "Islamic Republic of Iran clarify the above issue within a short period of time, provide an explanation, and take the necessary and urgent measures to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future".

Jeyhun Bayramov, Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Azerbaijan, said two civilians were injured as he accused Iran of firing another drone, in an area near a school.
